FANTASTIC EVENTS FOR HERITAGE OPEN DAYS!!

THESE EVENTS ARE ALL FREE, SO PLEASE DO COME ALONG! 

THURSDAY, 8th SEPTEMBER @ The Guildhall, Butchers Row, Barnstaple– 10.00am – 3.00pm
• Living History workshops including trying on armour from the civil war period, little history of medicine - blood and gore! and scribing and wax sealing
• Open House - Come in and join us for a look around the magnificent Guildhall built in 1826 in the Greek Revival style by architect Thomas Lee. The Main Chamber, containing many portraits of former burgesses, the Dodderidge Room containing the stunning town regalia, the 16th century Dodderidge fire surround and other artefacts, will be open for all to explore.


THURSDAY, 8th SEPTEMBER @ The Albert Clock, The Square, Barnstaple - 11.00am – 1.00pm
• Look inside the Albert Clock - Come and have a look inside and see how this recently restored monument works


FRIDAY, 9th SEPTEMBER @ The Guildhall, Butchers Row, Barnstaple – 10.00am – 3.00pm
• Court re-enactments
A chance to see something that doesn’t happen every day. Court trial re-enactments with local actors. 
Session 1: 10.30am – 12.30pm
Session 2: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Max 100 people per session.

• Decoupage 'Our Place' memory boxes - A chance to make a unique memento to you. Bring your photos of the local area, people, heritage sites and Barnstaple photos from way back when and create a memory box to celebrate our history.
