CIVIL WAR IN BARNSTAPLE  

A FREE week-long programme of events based on Barnstaple's civil war history funded by Barnstaple Town Council and Heritage Lottery Fund.  

7th - 13th August 2017  ALL FREE! 

AUG 7th 
Barnstaple Guildhall open house and a weaving workshop in the Main Chamber.  
Interactive scheduled tours of the Guildhall, 
First tour at 11am and the second tour at 2pm. 
Come and see the civil war history of Barnstaple brought to life!

AUG 8th  
Decoupage workshop using civil war extracts and pictures from Barnstaple.  
Tues 10am-1pm

AUG 9th  
Civil war Play in a Day, based on Barnstaple's part in the civil war.  
Childrens Workshop, 7-12yrs

Guildhall open house, Trepanning Through History will be in the Main Chamber running a childrens calligraphy activity and living history based on life during the English Civil War.

The Sealed Knot @ St Anne's, living history displays, come meet some civil war characters and see them in Barnstaples High Street.  
Cafe and childrens workshop on the ground floor.

AUG 13th 
The Siege of Barnstaple!  
Jam packed day full of things to do for all ages. Come and see battle re-enactments, cannon fire, a falconry display, bouncy castle and soft play, civil war stories and childrens crafts with the Marvellous Even-ures, Devon face-painting and so much more!!  
All activities Free!
